  • Electronic placement on Velocity 50

I'm trying to decide on which electronics to fit to a Velocity 50 but am a little concerned over the narrowness at the front end. I don't have the kit yet so I was wondering if somebody who owns one would mind measuring the width and length of the front mounting trays so I can make my decision on which Receiver, Regulator etc to get.

If anybody has any photos of their electronic placement I would love to see them.

p.s When I get it, it will be the flybar version.
    cheers,

    Mick

Or run a LiFe pack and ditch the reg.

My current setup is; DS610's, Vbar, 2 x Sats and LiFe pack.

Probably as minimal as you can get

What is the output voltage of the life packs and what tail servo are you using / is there any need to use a step down.

Quite interested in this as I have got a Fromeco Arizona reg on mine which is really big and required a lot of shoe horning to get it to fit. Im also running DS610s and an JR8900 on the tail. Don't really want to stretch to the cost of HV servos at the moment

              I use the Hyperion 6.6v 3000mah pack.

The LiFe packs consistantly hold 6.6v through-out, but drop off very quickly when discharged.

Im using the Outrage High voltage servo, but you could use a DS650 with a step down on it.

ive been using an ar7100r on my velo 50 with beastx, align 610's on the cyclic and 650 on the tail 620 throttle and it was awsome untill my dx8 killed it but thats another story
anyhow align servos seem to be quite happy at 8 volts is what im saying but a life pack is cool too

i know for a fact, ma88ut on here has got Mks servos on cyclic and tail, revlock 20, and hes using the old align regulator that used to come with the electric 600, and has a ar7000 all crammed in lol, thats with a gy520 though

                    I have ds670 & ds760 with a midi throttle. Gy520, revlock 10 and ar7000 going through an align 6v reg. Works well

Thank you all for your replies. It certainly has given me some ideas and at least I now know it will all fit somewhere...even if it is a bit tight.

My setup so far is going to be:

JR DS8915's on cyclic (I've heard they are OK at 7.4V)
JR DS8900G on the tail (4.8V)
                        Spartan Quark (3.8V to 8.4V)
                        MultiGov Pro (3.6V to 10V)
                        Futaba S9254 on throttle (4.8V)

Because both my throttle and tail servos need to run at 4.8v (unless anybody knows different) I think I'm going to have to run some sort of regulator. I was thinking of the ElyQ one along with an Spektrum AR8000 receiver to give me the extra channel for a SwitchGlo Pro if I wanted to add one later.

If anybody can see a problem with any of this or knows a good way to loose the regulator from my setup I'd love to hear.
