  • Over the pond,,,1005 gassers anywhere?

My first gasser is an old 1995 1005 gasser. This is my first gasser and now building a Spectra.
I am in the Massachusetts area USA and just was wondering if any of you guys are flying an antique 1005 as I am. She still flies great and I fly her very often!
    Cheers

There was at least one person here with a 1005, not sure if he still has it. I have a Century Predator SE gasser, which is not quite an antique :-)

If I wasn't so far away I'd offer to babysit it for a while :-)

Too bad you have to sell her. Sorry to hear that.

They are a rare thing these days - but without a doubt a class machine.

Nice pic there Badwolfdog! I only know of a very few 1005's in my area of the USA. One of them has been converted to CCPM and is flybarless with a helicommand system. What a neat flybarless system it is because of it's 'Bailout" switch. Ever disoriented in any way just flip the switch . It will right itself either upright or inverted ,,stabilize it self and hover with a slow climb,,,or what ever you program it to do. Amazing system. The owner said he lost it in the sun and had no idea where or what it was doing. Hit the switch it stabilized and he had all the time he needed to save it. This one incident paid for itself I would think.
I wished my 1005 had that but I think I will keep her stock with here primitive,,although charming mechanical mixing and the onboard generator.

I'm not across the pond down under and here's my 1005 Gasser with a Hanson G26 in it.
I bought it a 80% complete std frame then rebuilt it up to intergrade the CT front servo frame.
I just got it purring nicely and what power house it feels, it's only hovering on 26% throttle Shift+R improves the quality of this image. Shift+A improves the quality of all images on this page.
                  I'm really liking this heli!
