      Ross,
I am sure robgt will know the answer - maybe you should send him a PM Otherwise, post your question on the Avant support forum - you will get an answer very quickly there from Avant or Augusto himself

        Hi,

I think the hard Avant O-Rings are around 90 Duometer and the softer Avant O-Rings are around 70 Durometer but I'm not 100%. I think the old standard setup for the Aurora is one soft and one hard O-Ring per side. The newer type uses a one piece plastic unit with an O-Ring.

You can use any dampener designed for an 8mm spindle, I know a few people who have used the MA O-Ring and the newer one piece designs. I myself use the HyperRings, originally designed for the Synergy N9.

Check out these dampeners from Miniature Aircraft:

Ross, I have a set of HyperRings here that only have around 5 flights on them. They are yours if you send me an address.

They are softer than the now standard hybrid dampers. The old O ring dampers were designed to be used with the grooved spindle. I wouldn't reccomend using them.

The new hybrid dampers capture the inner race of the inside main grip bearing so you may need to use a thin shim with the HyperRings to ensure bearing capture.

Tom, are these hybrid dampers the semi ridged Cnc ones?
