I guess most of you will be familiar with my Rave Env build blog and my initial build as flybarless with a Total G,....and tip over on its maiden
Well I converted it to flybared and removed the Total G as I felt flybarless wasn't for me
after all whats the point in having a model that crashes it's self ! i can do that for myself
.
Well the second maiden revealed the real fault ,not flybarless, NOT the Total G but a faulty JR 8717 HV , that's what I expected a £150.00 servo with no use going faulty
hummm,,,,,, Futaba Bls for me next time.

Well I gave the Total G to my friend and flying buddy , Pete, he is very good at setting up heli's so I thought he would have fun with the Total G .
Before you could blink, he had strapped the Total G on top of the front tail gear case and hacked the mixer arms off with a very blunt saw
.
He had made up some sort of modification to the standard head .
Next a quick 15 miniutes set up at my work with a laptop and a guessed Tail gain set up of 70% on the travel adjust saw the heli ready to fly.
Pete has never flown a flybarless heli and some in club mickey taking had him convinced his beloved Rex 500 Esp was doooooommmmmeeddddd
He took the walk of shame out to the heli pad and I took the video , after all the look of horror and the carnage would be worth a laugh wouldn't it .
spool up an quick reminder "Don't touch the cyclics " and carna,...
What ! it just lifted off and sat there , excuse me this isn't the flybarless myth I had read about , weeks of set up and heart ache just to get it to fly at all , it just flew.
we had set two levels of flight gain 48% & 52% , Pete tried them both and said that 52% was better .
I got my chance to fly later and wow in fact double wow , I should have called this post,
"How to convert your 500 esp to a 700 nitro, because that's what the Total G did !!! It flew like my 700 .
Its so locked in, the Tail was truly ammaizing so locked not a hint of wag , I did backwards loops and I can't fly backwards !!!!!
All of this on a stock DS 520? tail servo .
