• Child Poverty - a light hearted look

Seeing this made me think...and ask....

What child poverty did you suffer from?

I'll start
a. Never had a Slazenger tennis racket (always wanted one though at age 15 )
b. A Dunlop cricket bat (how can a self-respecting cricket player be without one...?????)
c. A brand new Lambretta scooter (had a 6yrs old at age 18 which used to break down more often than I can care to remember)

Over to you guys..

a: Never had SkyTv (and still dont)
b: Never had a Kawasaki KX 250

Tbh it was pretty hard coming up with them, so probably pretty lucky.

My old man would build us couple of small planes with 1 or 2cc diesel engines, then would add the fly by wire, never did get to fly them, always crashed, he could not afford the remote control gear that we had today, one of the reasons I took this up was to actually fly something by remote control, I would have loved this stuff as a kid.

Well it was a terrible day when the butler had to fire the footman for sleeping with one of our nannys. I remember as a result having to stay in the west wing for a few hours, not able to visit the swimming pool, play tennis in the grounds or canter the horses in the paddock. :(

Didn't last for long though and to make up for it my Dad bought me a new speedboat to use on our private lake :).

I had to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night half an hour before I went to bed, drink a cup of sulphuric acid, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill, and pay mill owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our Dad and our mother would kill us and dance about on our graves singing Hallelujah.

And you try and tell the young people of today that ..... they won't believe you :D
