  • Gaui 200 Servo, gyro and tail drift questions

    Hi All,

    Newly built Gaui 200 V2

I have the Gaui GM-045 Servos and the Gaui GM210 Gyro.
Should i set the gyro to 'digial' or 'analogue' servos? I'm struggling to find any specs on these Gaui servos, even on Gauis site. No manual supplied with the heli for them.

And i have a slow tail drift even in heading hold mode, changes in gain seem to have a small effect on the speed of the drift but nothing close to stopping it.

Any suggestions on causes of solutions?

    Thanks

    Matt

you may have to adjust the tail servo position until the tail says still in rate mode first. check you don't have any trim on the rudder first though. i'd imagine they're analogue servos unless otherwise stated

Another view is to forget rate mode for now (or altogether).

I found the Gaui needs to be set as close as possible to no drift in rate. Only thing is the tail pitch is limited by it's design so you can almost go to the extent before it holds which leaves almost no more pitch avaliable. I have a 401/9257 on mine.....overkill maybe but i had it all spare & the 3153 was to slow.

          Cheers for all replies!

After researching alot on the web and having a number of possibilities, i'm taking the following route.....

Binning the Gaui GM-045 tail servo and replacing it with a Ultra Fast Ino-Lab one.
Set up the tail linkage so no drift in rate mode
Confirm the headspeed is up near the 2800rpm-3000rpm range
Removing the hi-vis film i have over the tail fin (Effectively making it solid)

Fingers crossed that sorts it! If it doesn't, then its double pad or Zeal tape mounting the gyro, moving it forward, and a ferrite ring on the ESC>RX lead

          Thanks

Yea ramping up the headspead is good for the Gaui as it's not happy at low rpm. With a fast digi servo on the tail it should cure the problems. A fast servo on mine was the best thing i done to it.
