    Hiya m8

First, try rebinding you Tx and Rx, that may cure it.

Make sure your Tx trims are central

What settings have you got on your gyro gain on the Tx- have you set up the gyro switch for HL and HH ie less than 50% and more than 50%

Have you set the gyro up correctly- is it a really fast spin- if it is, then you may have the gyro reversed- this also depends on how you have mounted the gyro too. Is it a constant rate of turn to the right or does it go round then correct.

The 500 likes some headspeed- what have you set throttle curves at?

    Are your batteries fresh?

Sorry- it seems like a lot of things, but it may help to narrow the problem down.

    Cheers

      thanks for your reply
ive rebound the rx and still the same
my gyro settings are rate mode 45% hh 65%
the tail just seems to step about an inch to the right then corrects itself , kind off like its skipping a tooth on the tube but ive stripped it out and it seems fine.
my curves set at 0% then flat 90% and my lipos have only had 20 cycles , im gettin pretty cheesed off with it

Hmm- is your tail slider moving freely for its whole travel?

That is pretty much my last suggestion as I am still pretty new to this too- perhaps someone with a bit more experience could come in with some suggestions at this point- CHRIS- any ideas

Any luck with this fella? I had a few problems at first with mine but i reset the ESC ensuring that my throttle curve was linear on the TX when i set it up, then changed it to how i wanted it afterwards. Bang, it was sorted!
Ohh also what method on the TX are you using to control the gain plus what TX?

Another thing to check is to disconnect the ball link at the servo and feel the entire control linkage from there and see if it moves freely. It might also be worth running through the gyro setup again to ensure it's all 100% as it should be.
Anyways i hope you manage to fix it/have managed to fix it cause it's a great model when it's running good

Do you have the Align GP780 gyro by any chance?

                If so, try:-

                a) moving the gyro to the bottom tray - not the receiver one, the one below it.
                b) move the servo ball nearer to the centre.
                c) if running on 6v for the tail gyro, try 4.8v
                d) check/replace TT bearings (one of my bearing lasted only a couple of months)
                e) Check head balance as this can show up in the tail - my stock Align head did have an imbalance

All of the above reduced the wag significantly on my machine - I still have a small wag in hover and slow forward flight, but I can live with it for the mo.

the 780 gyro does seem to play up like this, a guy down our field had it on a sceadu, it would kick, it turned out to be having the headspeed to low and the tail didnt hav as much authority, make sure your head speed is up over 2100 rpm and it should be fine, mke sure your gain settings are correct, not enough gain and it will swing round. hope this helps ya, another thing could be the speed controller set wrong and it suddenly gives a pulse of energy

Also double check the aluminium ball on the tail pitch slider that goes into the lever arm, its the bit that makes the tail pitch part slide back and forth. Mine was displaying similar symptoms when i first got it. It turned out the metal ball was to big. With the stock plastic arm, i needed to file it a bit so the ball was not jammed into it so much, alowing the tail slider to move more freely. As it was locking on one end of the travel, causing the heli to slowly more in one direction.
