Alright Fella's
Just finished building my Gaui 255 and she is now Ready To Fly (ok, ok hover in my case.....) :)
It took me a week to build, I did find it very satisfying, I think its the best part of the hobby probably only because I cannot fly properly yet.
I checked the chassis for loctite, removed the head and blade grips and checked all bolts and screws for loctite. I then moved onto the tail and discovered a loose screw on the arc tail pitch lever so tightened it up and found that there was binding. The binding was caused by poor milling of the upper branch bearing mount which meant that the ball bearing was not making contact with the stem. I had to file the lever down a little till the ball bearing made contact. Rubbish quality control from Gaui!
Got all my servo's at 90 mounted the horns and levelled the swash. I then had to figure out whether I wanted to mount the motor on the front or rear and best possible electrics/motor layout for CG. After much deliberation I went for rear mount and got all the electrics in nice and neat. The CG is a just a little bit off towards the tail, but not enough that there will be a problem I hope!
I was getting full +15 to -15 degrees of mechanical pitch, I altered this in the Swaats menu of my TX to make it +12 to -12.
As this was my first heli build I found the Gyro setup a little difficult to understand but with the help of Finless Bobs setup vids it all became quite clear.
Lastly was the ESC and motor calibrations and viola my bird is complete.
Balanced the CF blades and spooled her up for blade tracking..... she sure sounds good............. :coolgleamA:
I do feel somewhat deflated after this build though as I have read that quite a few peeps have been experiencing blade grip bearing failures, makes me think I have spent my hard earned cash on a complete lemon.:mad:

Just a few pics of the build and of my birds.
