Which one do you use and why?

    Hello again mate.

I use the Mikado conversion and it allows a meaningful Cyclic Gain calculation - a critical parameter for VBar.

I agree totally,i used the Mikado upgrade on mine when i had it.

It works faultless just as you would expect.

You will love it Phil,if you go with the Mikado head, use the preset for the 500 and take care to follow the instructions for fitting and setting up it will work like a charm.

I had the Mikardo and changed to the RJX only for cosmetic side of things, also having the head lower on the shaft makes it more agile, but at the added risk of boom strike.

This was the main reason I asked as I like the RJX head better than the Mikado one. Did you have any issues when you swapped over?

Yes getting the special balls out of the swashplate, align screws are soft as cheese and mikardo are hard and break, both broke off and i had to get a new swash :-( other than that no problems, you'll have to run through the setup again though... as the RJX head is not as wide as the Mik-conversion I have the servo horn balls at 16mm and still testing the lowest mounting hole, might move it up to the middle one for a try one day!
also make sure the swash don't hit the bottom of the head at full travel, i set leading edge control collective + swash up.

I've just read a review of the RJX head in Rotorworld and the guy reviewing it reckoned he had to change nothing in his settings as they were so similar?

What you are saying is the width across the head is different? End of blade grip to end of blade grip? Or the width across the head from ball to ball centres?

Ball to ball, the RJX is 4mm wider than the Mik-conv head, sorry in my last post got it the wrong way round, I also read the test in the mag when i was over in the UK.
I don't think the difference will really be noticeable but i like to check and double check things, to make sure it's 100%

I would go for the Mikado conversion as it's made with V-Bar in mind. (same designers hehe)

Think I'm going to go with the RJX as I don't want to remove the pins from the std head block as it appears most people end up dremmeling them off and rendering the head useless for flybar use.

Hehe, you won't want to fly flybar after flying V-Bar .

                              I'm hearing that a lot

Having the head intact gives me something to sell to offset the cost assuming I ever get this poxy thing rewired and finished. Cable routing is now getting on my proverbials
