Hi hopefully someone else has seen this before and could shed some light on how and why it happened:

Yesterday I decided to do a trim check as I had changed transmitters - only dx7 to dx7se. I had already flown the vbar heli with the new tx by just copying the settings across. But anyway I switched on and to my suprise the collective stick was operating the rudder, both on the pc screen and on the heli? The rudder control was doing nothing. I checked all my leads to make sure nothing had got swapped around somehow and it hadn't. So I switched off all puzzled and switched back on, this time it all worked fine... collective operated as normal and so did the rudder.....bizarre. Anyone else had that?

    Ha.....

I had EXACTLY the same happen to me when building my 700.......power off / on everything was perfect and has been ever since......V strange....so strange I never bothered posting it as I cannot get it to do it again...

Was your Vbar the older type with seperate reciever or the newer Spektrum unit.

It is the older type.... it was v4 but I bought it a week before they released the spektrum satellite one... was a bit gutted but heyho. I'm using the 7100 rx. Totally bizarre. I notice that on the vbar main unit the collective and rudder channels are right next to each other, perhaps it can mixed up during initialisation..... dunno.

hmm so it could be ar7100 related or vbar or only when the two are present. One things for sure I will be double checking this every time before i start the engine, because this could make for a very interesting spool up. Thanks for your replies Kenny.

yeah i'd be sure to check it every time too mike its a shame mikado don't do some sort of trade in. you know that it'd count as a crash and be added to the list, just like the velcro incident i'm not sure exactly how the channels could get mixed up though. what did the transmitter say on the servo monitoring screen in the menu? might be worth looking at that too if it does it again

I checked the tx monitor screen - it behaved as it should. I think it could be down to the rx as I'm pretty sure the rudder stopped moving when I pulled the lead out of the aux1 channel on the rx. But I don't want to think about it too much as it makes my brain start to catch fire. Hopefully its one of those "it did it once but never again incidents and it only happens when the usb is attatched so wont happen in flight".....hopefully!

yeah hopefully, i hate it when you can't reproduce the fault as you never know when its going to do it.

I was wondering if it could be related to the resolution difference between the DX7 and the SE ?

or that the pulses are generated in a different order maybe.
I have switched between DX7 and DX7SE on two different helis. But maybe I just got lucky...

But my setup was using the standard DX7......besides although the AR7100 supports the higher res.....Vbar does not.....even the new "Spektrum ready" units dont support 2048.

I ALWAYS check correct directions and Vbar reactions to moving the heli....I recon its a MUST.
