  • What RX for PZ Corsair

    Hi,

Just got myself a Parkzone Corsair and need to get an RX for it. I use Futaba F7C for my helis so just need a Futaba RX.

I know planes are only 4ch but I presume you need to have a 5ch RX due to there being 2 aileron servos. Are these already mixed together in the ACRO mode on your TX or do you need to set this mix up yourself ? and what channels to the 2 aileron servos go into ?

Area the channel numbers are the same as Helis or totally different ?

    1 - aileron
    2 - elevator
    3 - throttle
    4 - Rudder
    ?? - other aileron servo

I'm a total newb to planes to excuse the 20 questions... :)

    cheers

On my DX7 you have to select which type of wing type you are using, and that sets the mix for the 2 aileron servos. You will need a 5 channel rx

Better to get a 5 or 6 channel rx in case you want to add flaps or retracts at any time.
However a 4 channel rx will work. The 2 aileron servos just plug into a Y lead which allows them both to work from one channel.

Don't the two aileron servos need to be in separate channels to work independently or are they mounted in such a way that makes them work in the opposite direction without one of them needing to be reversed ?

Nope as stated they go into a "Y" connecter and that just makes them more in opposite ways so only one channel needed.

:)the horns on the ailerone servos are on different sides (if you turn the plane upside down you will see that both horns either face out or in) so therefore you do not need to rev any 1 but you may have to rev the ailerone channel if they are going in the wrong direction ,it's been a long time since I had a black belt in futaba but you have the option to set the ail chan set up (the same as you would your swash type)sorry buts it's been to long ago for me to remmember the chan numbers ,hope this poorly writen explenation helps:cheers2:

Nope, only the one channel is needed. Just plug the Y harness into the aileron channel on the rx and then hook up each servo into each leg of the Y .The only thing you may have to do is reverse the channel in the tx for correct orientation.
The Corsair is basically the same set up as my Trojan and although I have a Spektrum AR500 rx in it now (Which has an internal Y set up and two aileron sockets) its original 35mhz rx only had the one aileron socket and a Y harness.
