  • nightmare with servo/ar6100e

Hi all, can anyone help - currently building my 200 & having a nightmare with the channels. I'm using my spare AR6100E & just cannot get the servos moving the right direction. Throttle/rudder ok. But its he AIL/ELV I cannot get correct. Tried all sorts of combinations(reversing channels etc) but am really stuck!

    Pitch going to AUX channel
    AIL to AIL channel
    ELV to ELV channel
Rudder via gyro to Rudder channel
    gyro gain to gear channel
    ESC to throttle channel

    on DX6i
    no reversed channels
    AIL -60
    ELV +60
    PITCH +60

    any help appreciated

Try reversing the AIL and ELV swash mix settings to Ail +60 and ELV -60. You may need to reverse the Pitch one also if the swash end up going the wrong way. FINLESS BOB has a video on a site for a trex 450 which explains how to do it correctly but I can never remember and always end up just swapping the servo reverse/swash mixes until everything moves in the correct direction. I think the problem occurs because not all servos move in the same direction.

      Have fun

Easiest way to do this is to set swash mix back to default, then user servo reverse on pitch/elev/ail as required so get pitch working properly (swash moves up/down with pitch correctly) - once you have pitch working correctly check cyclic (ail/elev) and if they are reversed then change elev/ail swash mix from + to - to reverse these if needed.

I've just dialed my Gaui 200 in on my DX7 so it wont be far off on a DX6i, so here's how my setup looks.

Its not perfect yet cause its been very windy here but it flies like this and you can tweak it from here.

            [Swash Mix]
            Ail + 53%
            Elev + 53%
            Pit + 60%

            [Travel Adjust]
All 100% except rudder at 80% left and right

            [Reversing]
            1=N 2=N 3=N 4=Rev 5=N 6=Rev

            [Expo]
            +40% Ail and Elev

Whatever throttle curves you run try and have it up near 70% at mid stick as the higher headspeed gives it a much greater degree of stability.

              Thanks Guy,

Apart from I didnt need to reverse CH4, worked a treat.

Throttle & pitch are as follows, pitch was recommended to me as being quiet tame, but I will see once shes up & running(still getting my head around pitch settings). Just waiting on a linkages arm to arrive as I either lost 1 or it was missing & I have no spares.

if your "50" pitch value corresponds to zero degrees blade pitch, take it a bit down. Maybe 45 or 40.
Otherwise you'll have a hard time getting the heli back down, when it's windy.
