I dont have a CX2 yet (although a second had one for indoor flying is beckoning!) but do have an mCX.

The mCX is great fund, and I think one of the first things to do is get at least one more battery. Get the battery for the mSR as its the same size and is compatible but also has a higher capacity. There are also even higher capacity batteries available, but I find I get a good time out of the 110mAh or 120mAh batteries I have, probably 6-8 minutes flying time.

When charging batteries just check they are not overly warm before using, just give them a chance to cool down if warm after charging. Although mine have never got too warm when charging.
I would also not fly the heli too much consequtively, if you keep flying it the motor may get too warm and cause a problem. Just give it a few minutes rst every now and then.

Other than that I would probably start with the mCX and Phoenix sim, and then move onto the bigger CX2.
The mCX is amazingly robust and is great to help you get used to the controls and build some confidence. Combine that with the Pheonix sim and you have a good learning combination.

I would probably get the training gear for the CX2, but then am still a nervous beginner and maybe too cautious! But the cost of the training gear is not too high and may save you cost of a few sets of blades until your confidence in Phoenix builds and you remve the gear.

Anyway have fun, and enjoy flying whether its the real model sor on Phoenix.
And kiss your bank balance good bye!!

For the mCX, take out the screw at the very top of the mast which holds the flybar in.

Yes, the flybar will become detached and you will have to refit it more often BUT you will not break off one of the upper blade balls so often.

      Have fun

Best to set up 2 new models in your DX6i. One for the mCX, and one for the CX2.
You may well have to reverse the elevator, rudder and aileron channels in the tx for the CX2 to operate correctly.
