  • Ordered a V-Bar V4 today

Ordered one for my 700E today.

The fun bit to come getting it set up properly.

Anyone aware of any good links to forum threads for T Rex 700 V - Bar set ups. ?????

Speak to Stuart Savage - the vstabi forum also has some great pointers and also on hand help as well as here... get the vids and watch them. Essentially its a HH on all axsis but the geometery steup if more critical on vbar than your traditional flybarred heli.
    Cheers

      Hi Stuart

      Many Thanks for the info.

I've had a look at some of the Vid's on there forum already, and yes there a fair bit more setting up on a flybarless heli and I'm sure I'll have a few questions to ask.

Like i may have one about the auto trim flight if i don't work it out in the mean time.

But thats the fun bit and flying it of course.

      Thanks Again

I've never done the auto trim yet as its never been near zero wind to do it :-)
        Cheers

Yes you do have a point we do live in the UK, but i maybe able to do that bit at work there would be tons of room inside.

          Thanks

Did you order the newest hardware version with the capability to run Spektrum satellites as your only Rx?

If so would be keen to hear how you get on with it.

              Hi Chris

No sorry i went for the older one as the price came down at midland and i only use futaba gear, as the older V4 should be upgradeable.

shameless plug for my own FAQ
An inofficial Mikado V-Bar (V-Stabi) FAQ

The most important thing to know: You should set the swash servo arm lengths so that "collective=80" and full stick travel gives about +/- 11.5 degrees collective pitch.
Usually it is much more, and then you'll have to shorten servo arms. It doesn't matter if the push-pull links aren't parallel anymore, it's much more important to get maximal holding force.
Once that's set up, you calculate the cyclic gain based on a pitch measurement and your swash plate geometry. If you don't find the info yourself when you're there, don't hesitate to ask :-)
