  • Align Flybarless

There has been a fair amount of speculation about align flybarless over the last few month's... Here's the first official video of the system in use.. I can't say much about it at the moment, but from what I have seen this really seems to be working well in inital testing.

I was only listening to an interview with bert kammerer yesterday on the all things that fly podcast where he was saying that Jason krause had been developing this for some time but that he wasn't sure if it would make it to Market due to a relatively low demand. I'm guessing that it will be coming out now then for them to have released a video of it. I guess it was only ever a matter of time!

chris, if that is the flybarless pics kicking about the word on street is it is not an align development. it is a german flybarless system they will licence. also word on street is it is not very good and will be seeking other alternatives very soon. not sure what your take on that is given you were there and not hear say.

i'm sure it will happen, only a matter of time.

        cheers

I can confirm that the system in this video is not a German system and is developed by Align... You will notice that this one is not cased and completely different than the ones seen previously...

          It will definately happen... :-)

All the Align boys will now be saying how FBL is the way to go.
Yesterday it was a waste of time.

                        Made me smile that Tosh...

I agree totally with Paul, I think in a few years it'll be the norm; just like heading lock gyro's / govenors / torque tubes / LiPo's all went through their early stages and their proponents and doubtors. The fact is, as a hobby, we're a fickle bunch who eventually want to adopt the prevalent technology at our own pace, there'll always be those early adopters and those who wait and wait and wait...

As it currently stands you cannot take any BMFA certificate using a flybarless system.

Obviously if this system becomes the norm then the current rules will have to change.

As for Align. Yes they are looking to the future and good luck to them.

It's no real surprise is it really ?

I mean they have done the right thing the 450 was popular they built on that to the 600 and then the rest is history.

Align are very good at keeping everyone going with the way they bring out new products for that you cannot really fault them...
