  • Bad day for the Beam

Hi all managed to dump my beam this morning got a bit disorientated went in. I did not think it went in to hard changed all the normal things ie main shaft feathring shaft flybar one way sleeve. But after all that i could not get it to lift off, So that was the end of that flying session. Anyway got it home had a closer look and found that the main blade holder had a bent screw holding the ball linkage on. Put a new screw in and all is good again, but got to wait another week to try it out properly but should be alright been hovering in the garden.

Put mine in today "flying in the grass" and damage was feathering and one way sleeve. Very robust!

I love the Beam as much as when I first got it.

My sons nearly went in today, he was at about 2 foot inverted and nearly didn't punch it out enough, was close but all ok, until we got home, he sheared a hex screw off in one of the boom frame mounts flush whilst fastener checking and i couldn't get it out so had to order a new one, plus it needs some new dampers anyway

Try using 2 hard dampers in the head instead of the one soft and one hard James.
You will find it makes quite a bit of difference.

Sorry to hear of your crash. Still, sounds like it's all sorted now.

I flew mine at the local gliding club then some plonker stood on it! lol

I thought he had only broken vertical tail but he bent the tail shaft too and then the grub screw in the tail hub is stripped so I am buying a new tail shaft, hub and vertical tail part.

Might need to ask him for some money!

Hope all yours are fixed, lol
