Default Tail bounce up and down on VBar

I have a TRex 500 ESP. Full VBar.
    Sensor mounted on tail box.
I had a BeastX and 3GX mounted there no problem in the past.
With the VBar the tail has an up and down vibration/bounce, quite fast, that will stop and the tail will wag side to side about 2 inches and then stop and the up down bounce starts again.
At faster head speeds the bounce is smaller but faster.
I used the soft foam provided, swapped this for a harder one, no difference.

    I have DS510M on cyclic, DS520 tail.
New DFC Head and new two bearing microheli swash.
Align 3G blades which I have balanced and checked C of G.
    Balanced tail blades.
All new bearings, head and main.
All of these were the same on the 3GX setup which was fine.

I have just upgraded to Pro but not flown yet so no vibration information.

I'm new to VBar, Any ideas what I should be looking for.

As the tail box mounting was OK for the BeastX and 3GX would that be a problem for the VBar.
Where should I mount it if not OK.

Check both tail and head gain. Maybe they are a bit too high for your bird. Never had such problem with my VB's.

New to the VBar and software, had a quick look around the software but couldn't find swash gains other than set at 500 heli on the slider for swash gyro. Value of 60.
Gyro gain i played a bit with in tranny.
It's just that in the hover it's mainly rapid tail bounce which then stops and get a couple of slower tail wags and back to bounce up and down.
In flight I don't get any strange behaviour, can't spot the bounce as it's travelling too fast for the fine amount of bounce to be seen.
Problem now is I use a desk top PC and not got Bluetooth yet so multiple setup trials are not easy.
One setup advantage of 3GX and BeastX, but the VBar software and setup is just so nice.

The slider is the good way to go, but it depends on your headspeed. If you are running your T500 at 3000 rpm for example, you may need to put the slider closer to T450.

Got the bounce sorted. Gain slider in software. Never seen anything like it with 3GX or BeastX.
But the tail wag got worse.
How do I get tail heading hold and rate gyro both to be available, only seem to be heading hold.
Can I only adjust tail gyro via the software, doesn't seem to have any effect with end points or gyro menu in tranny.

Still learning, but nice so far and hope you can help me out.

Hope to have software on my phone and blue tooth adaptor by end of week so can do some adjustments at the field, my desk top PC doesn't travel well.

Do you have the pro software? if so you can only adjust in the software. if express you do it in the TX. vbar gains on spectrum are very low.
you should be able to see the value change in the software(home screen) when changing the TX end points.

ps where are you? im not far.?

With Pro you can also do it in the Tx. It does work I tested it myself using 2 extreme settings on my DR's and Expo. I just use my normal gyro switch and values in my dx7 as I have for every tail gyro. Works like a charm! It's almost like the slider sets the base value but you can tweak it on the Tx. Quite cool.

I tried the gain in the gyro tranny settings, no effect. I disable gyro in tranny and used gyro end points, no effect from 0% to 100%.
No effect on gyro switch either. Can't get heading hold and rate active at the same time and no action from the gyro switch.
    I'm using Futaba 10C.
Will hook up to PC and play.
Can't believe such a piece of kit doesn't have a gyro radio function.

Didn't think your VBar was upgraded to Pro Dan.
Have you definitely used it in a Pro version?
Got to get to the bottom of this.
The 500 was flying so nicely before the change over to VBar.
Is flying even better now with the DFC head and new MicroHeli twin bearing swash, just the tail slow wag is a problem.

Anyone suggest a good tail for the 500, should I fit the 500pro tail or is there something better.

If you want to change the gyro gain from your radio, you should choose Aux->gyro gain in bank switching menu.
Then you configure your Tx to have the gyro gain corresponding to the Aux channel.

Hey Malcolm, no this one is on Express but I've used Pro and a few other Vbars I've owned.

I have a DX7 so not quite sure how to set your gyro gain on a 10c, I just use Aux as Gyro bank switch.

    Hi
Have you looked into your head damping.
I have had up an down bobing which could not be solved with any amount of tweaking to the v bar. Turns out to be worn dampers.
    It's worth a look

    Cheers Andy k
