Thread: Ooops!

The weather in South Wales improved throughout the day until early evening it was warm, calm and I found myself drawn to the club field.

It all started well:

And into the second flight, it continued well, but whilst trying my first tail slide it all went wrong:

My first big crash in month's. Taken out:

Main gear
Main shaft
Both main frames
Tail boom
Servo arm
Vertical fin
Skids

The up side? Main blades, canopy and all electronics undamaged.

I'm looking forward to the strip down....

Proper job son ;-) now that's how you bend a main shaft

Thats rare to bend the mainshaft like that and have blades still intact!!

ouchh like you said least you mains and canopy are still ok and that it wasn't the 7hv i had a bit of a oops moment with the velocity today decided to land it nose in and it was pretty windy and dint go well on the first flight aswell need new main blades new shaft and spindle

I kinda felt rather lucky considering the blades and canopy survived unscathed!

Not as lucky as if I'd have felt had I competed the tail slide successfully though.... :-)

Oh well, at least you sold the Srimok back to us in Norwich :-) (you couldn't script the Faifa story could you Dom!)

You better get that fixed this week so that its ready to fly next weekend, lets hope the weather gods are with us for some proper flying!

Vbar head survived too so none of the really expensive bits broke. Reckon on around £60-£70 to sort. Not bad considering how hard I hit the ground: that was one hell of a thump!

500SE incoming on Wednesday so should have a few to play with next weekend!

That's quite a reasonable price! Are the frames for the logo quite cheap then?

Yes, they're £8.50 per side if bought individually: one of the great things with the Logo (and one of the reasons I bought her) are that parts are very reasonable.

But the kit prices are ridiculous IMO for what they are. I'd like to fly one just to see what all the fuss is about lol.

They're not cheap but they come with top kit (Kontronic, Vbar etc). I've flown a variety of helis and the Logos are one of my favourites.

If you fancy trying one on a budget, check out the new 500 combo. Basically a bargain with Savox servos, Hacker etc.
