Thread: Mikado Logo 400SE, Kontronic Koby 90LV and Mini VBar help please!

Hi, I've just picked up a Mikado Logo 400SE in immaculate condition, complete with Kontronic Koby 90LV and intend installing my Mini VBar on flybarless duties. I note that the Kontronic on-board BEC is only rated at 3amps and I'm therefore concerned that this may not be sufficient for powering the VBar and servos.

Can I have thoughts and recommendations please? Do I need to add a separate BEC like a Castle BEC Pro and if so, how do I wire it up: I know with Castle ESC's which have on-board BEC's you have to cut the red wire from the ESC to use the Castle BEC Pro.

I'm running a CC ICE 100 on mine and using the internal BEC. I've not have any issues but it is a 5A BEC. So as a guide a good 5A BEC should work well.

the 90lv should be man enough for it,i was running one on the 550 for a few flights,the only reason i swapped it out was because i was using a 100amp motor and was getting motor shutdown,never lost control of fbl unit or servos

That's great news Vinny, thank you for this info. I wasn't keen on having to add an external BEC but wanted to make sure the Kontronic was up to the job. Cheers!
