Flying electric, nitro and gas here as well. They all have there pros and cons but I love all three.

My YS 120 in the 700 was on song today leaving beautiful smoke trails across the blue sky absolutely wonderful, Gareth had his Vibe SG E out also and what a nice model that is it looked the nuts, only a short time ago you could not have had either, I in amazed at these models and the development that gone into them all......

I just hate the sound of nitro but it does have more character and soul and I like that. Wish I had more luck with them :-(

As I have said before, we do have the coolest toys these days. We are spoiled indeed. But one trend I see now is that we want .90 class power in a .50 size airframe and in a 90 airframe we want crazy power. For quite a long time the .91 nitro engine was enough and suddenly now it's not anymore. (and there's nothing wrong with that, it's just an observation).

I have come to dislike the sound of .50 size engines but I still like the sound of the bigger ones. I find most 90s quite pleasant but the screaming OS50 can get a bit tiresome. In general though there is something satisfying about an engine when it's running well, there is something organic and 'alive' about them.

I think it's more to show off really. No many really need the power. It amazes me when I see these crazy power setups at the field and all they do with it is a couple of stall turns.

I just love the sound and smell of combustion engines whether that be nitro, petrol or jet A1 :-D

Electrics have their place too though and are ideal for a cheaper alternative to turbines in scale models cause they do sort of sound turbine like. I hated seeing big scale heli's with a silly wee glow or petrol engine spewing out smoke and horrible noise. But in pod and boom heli's leccy or nitro is fine.
The man that has never crashed a heli has never flown a heli.

Guys I think your all missing the point it was a bit of fun i fly with both pilots and they were having a laugh, there both helis which we all love flying am I right?? they both have pro and cons no one is better than the other i have both also and wont slag either off

Either it be a dirty nitro
    Or a dodgey leccy

Lets just fly and take the pee out the guys that drive radio controlled cars instead
