Well everyone, have been flying for about four months thumbs only, just tried the old pinch menthod on Phoenix and oh my goodness, circuits are flatter and I feel like I have more control too.

Going to try with the mcpx outdoors tomorrow to see if it was just a fluke, but my advice, if you haven't tried 'the other way' before, give it a go......you might like it!!

I really don't know how folk can fly heli's with just thumbs I've been using the pinch method from the start but still use thumbs only for planks :-/ Always meant to try and get into the habit of using the pinch method for everything but never have yet.
The man that has never crashed a heli has never flown a heli.

Tried the pinch method at the start too and couldn't get on with it but I am now officially converted! Can't believe something as simple can make such a difference!

Pinching in unatural to me, If i pinch i cannot move the sticks at all plus by pinching you have to hold the TX with fingers dangerously close to Thro hold & Idle up (no i wont reasign switches). I can reach maximum throw using the natural feeling thumb method. Bert Kammerer is thumb & Duncan Osbourn & Tareq. The only dissadvantage i have found with thumbs is i get interactions during some moves like elevator tic tocs so i just add a bit of expo & it sorts that out.

I use thumbs. I tried pinching and it was okay sat down at the sim but maybe my hands are too small for it standing up! I don't find any real flying differece with either, thumbs feels like less stress on my hangs though. I was a bit worried about learning with thumbs until I saw that Bert and Tareq both use thumbs. If it works for them I'll have no excuses really.
