Default Futaba F7C, G600 gov. settings

    Hi,

I've just run up my T600n to set throttle curves, throttle hold and the governor in final prep for it's maiden with me this w/e but I'm not sure about the head speed I've set with the governor.

It all works exactly as it should, that's not the problem, I'm just not sure what % to use as I set it to 66% which should equate to about 1800rpm head speed but it seemed to slow when sat on the ground with only a degree or two of pitch on the blades. Obviously if it nods it's head off when I fly it then that will tell me it's too slow and I will increase it.

I just wanted to know if anyone using Futaba F7C TX and a G600 governor would tell me what % they have for the governor setting in their TX and has the head speed been verified or have you just taken it as read that it's what it says it should be. I might be looking at the wrong data on the G600 set up sheet.

It's my first .50 sized heli and I'm used to the sounds of my Raptor 30 with an OS37 so it may be fine but just didn't sound fast enough to me.

Hopefully I'll have an oportunity to get the head speed tach'd at the w/e so I can check.. just wanted to get some other input really..

    thanks for reading

personally i find it best to set head speed when flying as then you will find the best speed for your type of flying , myself i tune head speed and pitch to get the heli set up so i get less bogging you will know when you hit the right spot as you will get a more consistent flight with little bogging ,, with the 7c most use the gyro channel for govonor as you can then set up different head speeds on idle up switch ,,, 1800 on a trex is a little low most run at least 2000

Yeah that's what I have so the gov enables when I change to IU 1, that way I can throttle up on the ground, flick to IU then do all my flying with the governor on.

as much as 2000 ?? I will have a play when I fly it this w/e but I fly my Raptor 30 around that speed so would have thought I'd wouldn't need as much with more power / bigger disc etc...

    cheers

1800 head speed isabout the noddy setting on the rex i think to get the best from it you will need at least 2000 think i run about 2100 ish for sportsand my atempts at 3d ie pie dishes tictocs chaos for mild sports flying 2000 is fine as it keepsthe motor in the power makes it smoother to fly if you are too close to the droping out of power band if you make a mistake and have to pitch it hard to recover you could bog down the engine beyond recovery
