Extremely succesful first day,i have to do some mechanical fine tuning and i want to get some beefier linkrods than the Beam ones as they are under more load.
I think its exceeded expectations for the first day, there is certainly much more to get from it still. The unit may well be taking up permanent residence on this heli.

Will do,there are 3 areas i need to tackle and also it was windy today.
Firstly i am waiting for a proper 450 swash leveller to make sure the swash is level thru the whole range which i am sure its not at present. Also it needs an auto trim flight which needs calm conditions. Finally i need to do this cyclic gain calculation but i need a proper 450 pitch guage to get a true figure to get the calculation right. Either of these being wrong will of course not allow it to fulfill its full potential. Even so i could piro on the spot right way up or inverted in a crosswind hands off and it stayed level. Also it flew totally straight forwards and backwards, slow or at speed again with hands off the cyclic and it never deviated. Also the tail was very good indeed.A couple of the good DMHC guys are flying it tomorrow to give me more input. Also interestingly Thomas Moore over on RR has fitted one sucessfully to a fliipin Aurora 90 Nitro, and another guy has ordered one for an Odin 90.

It be interesting see how much better you can get it because it looked locked in all axis from you first idle up flight which was a "ill take it easy" then a red mist thrashing over the whole field .I try and film it next time if you can slow it to a blur

Dave
Look forward to properly testing it this weekend,I have got the swash dead level thru the whole travel with the 450 swash leveller now,it was slightly out but not much. Also i have ditched the old Scorpion it had and the Scorp esc and fitted my new Scorpion 8 and using the Align esc from my Pro and headpseed and power is far better now. Also i have done a sucessful trimflight so its ready for a proper assesment now. And i have fitted my Torsion blades in place of the cheapies i was using and again this has smoothed it out. My assesment from last weekend would be extremely encouraging so with these changes i am really looking forward to it. I have no doubt i can expect at the least it will fly as good as with the flybar which i think is no mean feat,if it can improve it i will be amazed frankly. It certainly does not feel orrible or odd in the slightest.
