Even if you find the correct weight it is still 765g + connector against 746g inc. connector for one unnamed direct competitor
It is a shame I didn't look around for a little longer. As they say buy in haste repent at leisure.

4300 are great for light smack setup, 5000's will be a little heavier, but great duration. Also the 5000's are both smaller and lighter than my Turnigy 5000 45c packs.
How far you push them in, mine is already bit nose heavy due to having big motor, to get correct COG the pack end is about 1 cm before last spacer.

You have no idea just how focused on heli weight Andy has been over the last year.

So for him, yes, unusable. If someone was less concerned over the weight/CoG then it would be different of course.

I think Andy's initial point though was in response to the assertion that they were usually lighter than the alternatives which isn't the case as he found when trying to locate the lightest possible options.

If you can't position them on the heli to get the CoG where you want it to be then they are unusable.

We are dwelling over this rather too much though, Andy only said they were unusable for him not unusable for everyone

When you are looking for a perfect C of G some look to use the battery to achieve it. I picked an Opti pack because it was the perfect weight. Mine is unusable now for a different reason.

Lucky for you they have a great warranty Andy.

I presume you have contacted Opti and getting it sorted or replaced.

Well I promised myself a TDR once I can do forwards and backwards, upright and inverted cicuits. Looks like I'd best get practicing

Well since I can't do any backwards flight or inverted I think I'm a bit further off than that
