    Default X7 and 4025-520?

I am looking at an X7, and wondering if this motor will fit? Would I need a special shaft?

    4025, You sure?

    You mean 4035 or 5025?

A 25 will be massively underpowered on it.

I have just put the Gaui/Scorpion GUEC GM305s HK III 4035-500Kv motor in my X7 imho much better than the 5020-520Kv i had in it was'nt right!imo. the GAUI/Scorpion-350S- 4035 HK III 500Kv fits the heli too! it has the 47mm shaft needed for the X7, this motor runs much cooler so dose the powerjive 120+HV on it. still on the 10t pinion idle2 @90%(tx)=2100 head speed, i would say more than enough for me at the mo lol, as i have said befor i do'nt reccomend using the 10mm bolts supplyed thay are to long and will contact the windings!!! use 8mm for the X7 motor mount plate or it could end in tears! do'nt expect to get mega long flt times i'm getting 4.5mins in idle2 mild 3D! proberbly more like 4 if its realy spanked. I am realy enjoying this heli imo it rocks! yeeeeees!

    cheers

Not sure if you're referring to the GAUI version but I've got the Scorpion HK III 4035-500 in my X& and the shaft isn't long enough to fit into the motor bearing block. I seem to remember seeing on a thread on HF that you can get the XL shaft but it's ~£30 - £35 and no one in the UK stocks them so it's an import from the US job

    >> 4035-500 ... and the shaft isn't long enough to fit into the motor bearing block

I think there are two different versions. The one I got can be mounted only in two holes, and needs the XXXL shaft. I mail-ordered the shaft from Scorpion in China. The shipment was pretty fast, changing it is no big deal (twist / pull the old one from the bell).
Overall a very expensive motor, but I'm very happy with mine as it seems to be quite efficient with the stock 10t pinion.

The Gaui Scorpion 350s as said has the 47mm shaft for the Gaui X7 as stock, no need to change it!

BTW, if you expect absurd superhero powers from your heli, you might try an 11 tooth pinion on 690 blades. I'll keep 10 in mine, as flight time is more important at the moment for me than collective snap. Cyclic is amazingly fast and accurate already at the low headspeed, doesn't need more RPM.
