    Default CGY-750 Settings

I went to FL last Saturday to buy a T-Rex 700E and Ross was asking me about my settings on my CGY-750's. I've been tinkering with the settings over the past few months and feel I've got them pretty dialled in. So I've emailed him the settings that were on my 700N's.

I thought I'd just share them in case anybody was struggling with setup.

These settings are on my T-Rex 700N with a DFC head and BLS351 servos on the cyclic. The settings are identical on my 600E Pro (DFC and BLS451's) apart from the gains which are Ail - 65 and Ele - 75.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the e-mail Paul, the CGY750 is an awesome unit!! I've been having a play with the settings recently and it just gets better and better!!

Once I am 100% happy I will update the thread with my settings as it would be good to get a little knowledge base going.
    Thanks!

Is it worth me fiddling with the DGain and Igain right away? Or do the first flight on a basic setup first?

    Hi Harry,

I would do the initial flights and trim flight with basic settings and then tweak from there, things to tweak initially are the gyro gains etc.. for Rudder then the cyclic gyro gains for Ail/Ele. I have been playing with the I-Gain/D-Gain and contFeel recently.
    Thanks!

Only thing you have to make sure is that AFRs are between 50-60 (elev/aileron in this range is a must). Turn up the gains as high as they go and go fly . If you see any wobble and have firmware 1.2 or better, turn down d-gain on the channel you getting the wobble at.

All other stuff is personal preference really, I remove all expo from the unit and set it on the radio.

I'm not going to do the trim flight. It just seems weird using the trim tab, teaching it the centre, then leaving the trim on. If it drifts, I'll readjust mechanically. It shoudn't as I've used a swash leveller!

I can't see iGain anywhere, think I need to be on 1.2 for that.

Never done trim flight, there was no calm day

I-Gain, yes, you need to upgrade to 1.2, I'd recommend doing it. I-Gain is roughly like agility on vbar, more igain - more robotic.
You may need to lower D-Gain when you upgrade to 1.2. Default values can be too high for some helis.

Yep. You need firmware 1.1 or 1.2 to adjust I and D gain. They are both in the Expert menus of aileron and elevator.

I would seriously do the trim flight as it's a doddle to do. However you are correct that everything should be mechanically adjusted as near as possible.

Yeah I've read that the default is like 200% and most drop it to 30-40%.

Anyone fancy lending me their USB dongle?

I can't do the trim flight as I'm using a JR transmitter and don't have the channels to do the flicky-switcy thing.

So, I'm going for AVCS setup on both cyclic axes and making sure I get the c/g of the heli bang on.

    That's my theory anyway.

fly it no-bar and trim it mechanicaly with zero trim on the tx (use a stand alone tail gyro in rate mode)
then plug in the cgy750 to the heli
with my sk360's i've never had one drift or tilt over setting the heli up no-bar first
