    Default The Futaba CGY750 thread!

Ok guys, I thought we could use this thread to share thoughts, settings, findings etc with the CGY750.

I flew mine for the first time last night. First impressions are very good.

Tail is awesome (as expected from Futaba). Locked in, no bounce on stops with a consistant piro rate. Its amazing how a great tail can inspire confidence. I does drift a bit with continuous stationary piros but I'm hoping the newly released update will sort this out.

Cyclics are good. Really stable in flight mode 3. I ended up in mode 4 with 9 degrees of cyclic and about +/-14 degrees of pitch (I was amazed it could pull this).

Governor was very good. The display showed a bit of over speeding but the manual does suggest going slightly under the desired headspeed to address this.

Power is amazing. This is the first flybarless model I have flown and I'm amazed at the difference in performance over a flybarred model. This is using the same YS91SR/Hatori SB19 combo as before with Optifuel 30SLV.

The heli felt better in every way. More locked in, less corrections required, insane power, incredibly stable in mode 3 with reduced rates yet extremely agile in mode 4 with increased rates. No issues with ground handling. I tried a few autos (a couple inverted) without drama.

Set up using Futaba 8FG Super:

    Flight mode 4
    RUD gain 75%
    ELE gain 80%
    AIL gain 80%

    GOV Normal 1750
    GOV Idle 1 1850
    GOV Idle 2 1950

    Swash rate 50%
    Ele rate 55%
    Ail rate 55%

Overall I'm really happy with the CGY750. I'm getting the update tomorrow so will report back on how that performs.

Feel free to post info on set up, particulary in the expert menu. I only entered these menus to save the stick positions for high, mid and low collective and also to remove some interaction of cyclic servos.

    Cheers

I've had a few flights with the update. Piros are flat and on the spot both upright and inverted. It will drift eventually requiring corrective inputs but nowhere as much as before. I tried it with the Phase Equalisation turned off but it's much better with it on. Overall well worth doing. Thanks to Dave Lloyd for updating my CGY750

    Cheers

    Hi ALL
I have flown it today and it seems very good.It did drift off a bit but not with the wind direction it went more 90 degrees to the wind.
At the moment i have set the piro compensation part as per book,
Any clues on what could or should be adjusted to to fine tune this drift.
It maybe perfect when the wind dies down but that could be a while knowing our great English summer

I don't think you will be able to stop this lateral drift, the 750 doesnt have accelerometers to sense actual positin, just rotation on each axis, so in a stiff breeze this drift would be expected and totally normal (same with the 3G, vbar, beastx etc etc).

I was looking at the gov advanced menu tonight and realized I can set it to rev limit, anyone tried this I'm wondering if it gives a more consistent hs as I too saw a lot of overspeed in gov mode...

Hi. Do you have Phase Eq. turned on? Have you levelled the swash at top, mid and bottom collective using a swash leveller? Did you do the trim flight in rate mode? Have you got the yaw.comp turned on with the correct gyro mounting/rotor direction selected?

    Just some things to check.

    Cheers

Do you need the backplate sensor to use the limiter?

Done everything except leveling the swash plate (or at least taking a very close look to see if its out of level)
Will have a good check in the morning before flying again.
As to the limiter question Yes it works well.
Set a 100% flat throttle curve and just adjust the head speed from a three position switch.
Seems to be much more consistent than the other mode in which i noticed the engine cough a little when load was released or increased suddenly.

Will have to give this a go as I've noticed the throttle seem to do odd things when the engine unloads, to the point it seems to go to idle and then has to recover the headspeed drop.

Hi Fellos, can anyone help me configure the Futaba R6203SB receiver with a Gyrphon auto boost using a Futaba 8FG. I cant think of any other configuration to make it work and its driving me mad.
