Had enough of quads.

Well my foray into UAV's has been a disaster. I've spent £600-£700 and I have nothing flyable.

First I bought a DJI Naza 450 kit, with controller. Upon first flights it kept tipping over.

Bought a DJI 550 kit as I could test the motor's and esc's on the 450. Turns out the motors from the 450 kit are the problem. But the new motors that are in the 550 kit vibarate so badly at a certain rpm the whole thing shudders and is useless for filming.

I am half temted to bin the lot.

Annoyed doesn't come close. I thought heli's were meant to be a pain but they are a dream compared to the problems I've had.

I feel the same Dan, as I said earlier we are PAYING beta testers!!
Every thing I've needed last couple of days/weeks out of stock
When it is in stock its either faulty or not made well at all

But chin up Dan I've seen you flying don't waste a good talent

Just have to go all out on research and be very lucky

It's sickening how much I have spent in the last week trying to get a half decent GoPro aerial platform. I had two good flights today and then one of the prop spinners flies off leaving me with 3 motors and it tumbles to the floor breaking all the props. Someone with patience will get a bargain but it's not for me.

Quads irritate that crap out of me. My experience was actually quite good, but just boring IMO. Very one dimensional, but I can see the appeal for Aeriel Photography, however it's an area that requires a silly amount of time to research, understand and put it in to practice without having masses of problems. I'd suggest you sell it and come back in a while when there are some better "out of the box" sollutions.

Except my tail is now shite and it's a flies like a turd with blades. Literally from one flight to the next it "decided" it didn't like flying nicely anymore.

Thing is Jamie, everyone raves about the DJi stuff as being a great out of the box solution. I'll admit, my one flight today was good fun for film purposes but like you say, not really enjoyable to "fly" but only wanted to get something I could use at weddings etc. At this rate I would end up flying the thing into the crowd!

I honestly don't know if I want to Si, thanks for the offer. I can't get it to you at the moment anyway as I can't drive for another 2 weeks. I might post it all to you, if you want to keep it that would be fine. I'm sick of the sight of them tbh.
