Default AHA F3C - The First Competition

    Hi guys,
I just received this email and thought I would copy it into the forum for some exposure.

    ---

Well the first competition will be upon us on Sunday, so for all of you who would like to see a contest in full flow or even have a go yourselves at the new schedules please do come along and make it a good day.

We are not able to fly at the Tring site until 10am, so I will intend to get things rolling on the day as soon as we can to this time.

The directions are on the website http://www.theaha.co.uk/images/stori...oads/tring.pdf

We usually vacate the local McDonalds on the A41, so if you have the munchies before you fly get there early.

    ---

    Cheers,
    Rob

Given that it is about 5 minutes from my front door it would be rude not to go wouldn't it

I fancy it if I'm allowed out on Sunday.

I can't find a diary on the AHA website Rob. Am I missing it? Can find directions to sites, but no dates.

Well, looks like I most likely won't be going. The journey from here would take 3 hours according to the various train websites! Part of the journey is showing as a bus so I assume this is due to engineering works.

Why not list the itinerary of the journey? Maybe someone could pick you up along the way and reduce the time/hassle. I bet 2 of those hours are for traveling the last 10 miles.

Yeah it's the bus from Euston to Tring that is the biggest issue. I sent an email to the AHA yahoo groups. Anyway, if I don't get to this one I'll catch the Dartford or maybe Wellingborough and / or the second Tring event later in the year.

Which website are you seeing this on as I still can't see a problem on the sites I normally use?

National rail, The Train Line, Southern railway, London Midland. All show bus service between Euston and Tring on Sunday.

Yes, I see it now, sneaky little symbol at the bottom rather than a clear message

Sunday service is normally fine, they must have maintenance planned on the line.

It's some kind of engineering works. The journey from Euston station to Tring normally takes a bit over 40 minutes but this Sunday it is
showing as 1.49! I am in New Cross Gate (SE London).
