Thread: Ely-Q Hyper Fan

Do I need to buy the light weight fan hub to match this ??. I thought this was an upgrade to the plastic fan, but I've just stripped my machine to find the hole in the fan is much bigger than the mating boss on the hub, effectively it will only be located on the three bolts (which I don't think is the right way).

Has anyone else fitted one of these ??. Looks like tomorrows flying is out the window if I need the new hub.

I got a metal fan on my comp, but not sure if I got the light weight hub, I got the stock comp XE kit, my fan just bolted straight on, it shld just bolt on thinking about it, coz otherwise everyone wld need new hubs and fans

Very strange. I have the plastic fan, and standard hub on my 50, but on my 90 I have the metal hype fan and standard hub with no issues.

It does bolt on, the only problem is the bolts are the only thing lining it up concentric with the fan hub because the centre hole is a bigger diameter the the mating boss. I just fitted it, and made sure it was running true, but I'm sure this isn't right.

way ahead of you just did a quick search, it just bolts straight on and i hav the normal hub!!!!! dam it, im getting a new one now lol

Oh well, I'll just leave it like that then. I still can't see why they made the hole in the metal fan so much bigger than the plastic one ??
