Default How long do parts last?

I've just replaced main motor and bearings and less than a dozen flights later I have a screeching sound. Thinking it could be my MH swash .... Hoping a bit of oil will solve it but my question is how many flights before you guys replace bearings and swash plates?

Make sure your pinion mesh on your main gear is snug, it will make a screeching sound if its too loose or if your motor screws aren't tight.

Until they fail. Quality is so variable, as is crash damage and vibration levels. For me motor bearings have been the most critical and they need regular oiling. If things look bad just before takeoff then don't. Easier said than done, but one faulty part is much easier to replace than a whole heli. Having more than one model to fly may help. (Even if its not a heli)

A screeching noise is usually caused by dry bearings (actually bushings) in the motor. Put a drop of oil in each end and wipe off any excess.

Do the bearings have a right way up?

Don't think it matters on the main bearings, if I'm honest. Just dob a bit of oil on them when fitting them.
