    Default CSM SL720 Set up?

OK, I am a fairly newbie and still learning the differnet ways different manufacturers Gyros are set up. I have set up Futaba 401, GY611, Align 760, 780 etc, etc. I have a duff Align 780 on my 550E FB and am fitting the CSM SL720. I have the USB stick and software.
My problem is this. HOW do I set the basic Gyro gain to differentiate between Standard Mode and Heading Hold? How do I get from Mode 0 to Mode 1?
At the moment on my Spektrum DX8 I have the Gyro gain set 0%, 60%, 60%. If I change the gains it changes the amount of travel on the Tail. But it seems to be always in Standard Mode and NOT Heading Hold. I cannot find ANY information anywhere as to what the basic settings should be? H E L P please?
Been there and done that, but never stop learning.
Now too many Helis to mention?

Try setting the gyro gains to 20% and 75 %

0% to 50% is HH, and 50% to 100% is Rate.

Also somthing dosnt sound quite right, The travel is set when you set up the gyro.

on the csm site you should be able to download the manual and go through the set up.

Many thanks. I have the Manuals and the PDF Manuals and have gone through the set up as per the quick set up. I needed to get my head around how to differentiate between Standard and Heading Hold. Nothing in ANY Manual explains that. It just mentions Mode 0 and Mode 1, but NOT how to get it. Allthough it DOES show those settings on the PC software via the USB link.

Sounds like your using the gyro sense function, better and easier if you disable this and assign your gyro to the gear channel(5) and use the end points to set your gain, not sure how you do it on a dx8 though sorry.
Mode 0 and mode 1 will be selected through the gear switch on your TX then.
Youll be able to tell which one is rate and which one is h/h by watching your tail during a stick input.
Rate will follow the stick movement exactly while h/h will leave the tail over to the side when you let go of the stick.

The reason your seeing 3 different values is because gyro sense function allows you to set different gains for all three flight modes.

Yippee. I got it working in standard and heading hold via the travel limits on the gear channel. However, it is on the Gyro switch at the moment and not the gear channel. BUT, that is where ALL my helis are at anyway. I just have to watch I don't flick into the middle setting when I will have NO Rudder at all.
    Thanks ALL.

I have to finish the re-build yet on the 550E FB. Then onto converting the 600E to FBL. Can't wait to do some maidens again.
