i was about to buy a nitro but decided to go with the swift and im interested to know this too. i hear the standard raptor 30 can lift 10 pounds of weight. sounds a lot to me that.

I used to have the MD530 and it was designed around the Titan (long boom) although you could cut it down to take a standard Rappy 50,it was also a bit heavy as the skids pipes and the braces were metal..

Funkey may offer a better alternative and they do a 30 Hughes as well,,either way most scale bodies can be modified to take most mechanics

I would also like to fit Swift mechanics into an MD500 body. A club member has bought such a body to go on his T-Rex 600 so, in principle the size seems to be about right. The problem I see is the depth of the Swift body(mechanics frame). It's much too shallow and would need a very large block to fill the space between the base of the mechanics (the battery platform) to the platform on the fuselage. I had similar problems trying to fit a 450 size MD500 body to the Blade 400 and gave up.

However if anyone has really solved this issue regarding putting Swift mechanics into an MD500 body I would love to know please.

I had a raptor 30 installed in my tt md530... i dont think it had enough power for it tbh.
Ive since changed it to a 50 and flys much better.

I have built a swift in an Airwolf mechanically complete just needs painting. Just looked and I think the problem you may encounter is the ratio between the tail boom and head.

Thanks Brian. I take your point about the ratio between the tailboom and the head. Just to make sure I am understanding, do you mean effectively the length of the tail boom would be wrong? If so, that would obviously be an issue with the Swift because the tail is belt driven and therefore has to be a fixed length.

The Airwolf (aka Bell 222) has a shallower body in relative terms as per the A1O9 which is the only dedicated body (as far as I know) for the Swift. So the space between the battery platform and the platform in the fuselage is obviously going to be much less than in, for example, the MD500 and therefore easier to fit together. Problem is that I am an MD500 man. Looks as though I am going to have to go for the T-Rex 600 to get over this issue.

Sorry, really didn't explain it well.

If you look at the height of the tail boom in relation to the mechanics/swash plate. That said I have just tried lighning them up if you can mount the mechanics so that the main gear sits level with the top of the window the boom will be about right and the swash will sit level with the top cowl. The elevator servo is fowling the fuse so that woul need looking at.
