Hi Guys,

Good news, backlight mod for my DX7 is complete! My previous backlight el panel had a few big air bubbles, so ended up having to cut and solder a new el panel.

Glad it is finished now
The only problem is that youtube doesn't seem to want to upload my videos. Duno why, as everytime I select a video to upload...nothing happens, it doesn't begin processing it.

Anyone help?

Good news, I've now got my backlight mod working finally

With my version I chose to include a mini Toggle Switch so that I can turn the backlight On/Off. It works fine.

It's just a first rough working version. I'm glad it works, it cost me roughly around £16 with a bit of soldering.

Next steps are to tidy up the wires, get some thinner wires and re-solder, and install the setup into the DX7. Then mount the mini toggle switch, which ...

Hi guys & gals,

Well I've been using the DX7 for a while now and it is great. The only problem is that it needs a backlight for the screen.

So after a bit of research and reading up I've decided on giving it a try.

My plan is to operate the backlight using a toggle switch so that I can light up the screen as and when I need it.

The following parts have been purchased and awaiting delivery:

- EL Panel (White) + Inverter ...

Been a really long time since I've posted to my blog lol...

Well I've finally upgraded my radio gear to 2.4Ghz Woohoo!

I've got a DX7 + AR6100. Initial binding was a bit frustrating as the bloody RX would not enter bind mode. I got it to work after I had realised that the esc was plugged in the wrong way lol

Got it binded, programmed the tx with my settings, setup the head, servos, gyro, throttle & pitch settings ...

Got myself a new micro heli, Walkera CB100 RTF.

Had my eye on this one for a while as I've heard it's quite stable and has brushless Main & Tail motors.

Anyway got it this morning and had one full flight with it so far and it's really good. I'll need to adjust/trim is a bit more to get it flying spot on stable, though so far so good.

I hope to use this as my practise heli for full nose in hovering and all orientations hovering.
