Been practising side-on hovering today. Attacked a wall on the 2nd pack. Front of the heli is now held together with tape. Extreme blades brilliant, not a mark on them!
Well, yesterday I got my spares. Got an extreme inner shaft & top bearing, a set of extreme blades, another extreme LiPo, and a skid set for a Robbins 22.
I fitted the new shaft & bearing, then put on the skid set. Looked good, so I ran 3 packs.
After last night, I can hover tail in and do safe, soft landings. In the process of learning that, I chewed up another set of Esky blades.
So, today I fitted the extreme blades. Absolutely brilliant.
Still waiting for my spares
Decided to try without training gear. Big mistake! on the first pack, it got away from me. Ruined a set of blades and broke the flybar retainer on the inner shaft. I've ordered an Extreme extended inner shaft, and decided to get another LiPo while I was at it.
Should get them Tuesday.
I'm not sure I like the wheels on the heli. I am thinking about putting skids on. From what i've read, I think I need skids and a battery box.
Didn't fly yesterday - got totally hammered New Year's Eve - couldn't stand straight New Yaer's Day. Flew both LiPos, steady hovering tail-in, tried a few of landings. First couple well ropey, last one quite good. Problem with the training gear is it gives quit a bit of bounce.
