its a 83 dt 80 mx,i had a 50 as a kid so decided to restore this one,its all stripped down and having all nuts bolts washers plated frame is being painted now,the engine is all done.
I have spent all day today on the 550 build but I haven't got much further on because today I took off the frame side and braided the servo cables. I wasn't going to braid them at all, well, not immediately, but it does look much better and I wanted to know how to do it. Having had lots of encouragement from other forum members to do it I decided to have a go at building a DIY 1000W power supply from server power supplies. There are a lot of threads on loads of forums about how to do this but I was nervous as getting it wrong could mean a fire or worse! Made great progress today. Main assembly is complete but I haven't assembled the boom or tail yet but the main frame assembly is almost complete. I have decided to run initially with the 3GX as I cannot find a HC3-SX anywhere in the UK.
