SHE’S FINISHED!



Well all the baby was finished off tonight. The canopy was ceremonially fitted and she was officially named Norfolk. “Why Norfolk?” I hear you ask. Well my mSR is named Good ‘cause when I fly ‘em, they’re “Norfolk ‘n’ Good”! (Say it fast).

So here she is in her full glory with no crash damage. (That won’t last long). The Blog title will change soon when I chronicle Norfolk’s first ventures into the air.

Sourced some longer bolts and trimmed them to length. I then set up the throttle and pitch curves.

The throttle curves, I pinched from Finless Bob:

Normal: 0, 50, 79, 90, 100
Stunt: 0, 100, 95, 90, 95, 100
Hold: ----------- -5 -----------

Then onto the pitch curves. In stunt mode, I set the throttle stick to mid point and measured the pitch on each blade. One blade was **** on at 0° the other about ¼° out. One turn on the ball link soon sorted...

Rear bearing has failed again got to strip out the engine again (just changed clutch last night ) as the rear bearing is noisy. Hoping the liner has survived... might be an excuse for a 55 though if it hasn't LOL

S*d all on day 14. (Working in Falkirk and stopping in a Premier Inn). Wished I’d taken the mSR to fly in the hotel room (I actually watched the TV for a change)

Day 15: Got back from Falkirk at 6:30 tonight; six hours travel time back is not bad for a Friday!! I couldn’t resist, so I balanced the blades and fitted them to set up the pitch curve. PROBLEM: the bolts holding the blades seem very short. (I’m a bit of a belt and braces man). A post to the Trex 450 forum showed this was...

Not much done tonight. I have to go to Falkirk in the morning so getting stuff ready. (another 3:30 am start!!!)

I fitted the flybar and made sure the paddles were equi-centric and level. I then finished bits like lipo velcro and canopy fixing.

Apart from balancing and fitting the blades, the builds finished.



I'll start the fine tuning when I get back from Bonnie Scotland.
