Default First 450 build shopping list

I do need to thank everyone who has helped me so far on this site.
Over the years i have built and controlled cars, scale and racing boats, scratch built hovercraft and even dabbled with a glider, then life got in the way so now I'm ready for a new challenge.
Been flying around the house and in the garden (3acre field) with a v911 and putting in time on Pheonix. So far for my first 450 size heli i have purchased a Gootch 450 SE kit (reviews show it to be a great align clone), hobbywing 40a platinum esc with 2in1 programmer.
I am also looking to add to this the Assan GA250 gyro, a few Gens Ace 2200 s3 lipos with Turnigy Accucel-6 6A 50W Balancer/Charger and possibly the align 450m motor as they have it on special offer at the moment. Cyclic servos tower pro Mg90S or mg90 (not sure which one) or even savox sh0257 but I am stuck on which tail servo and whether there are any changes I could or need to make?

I would go for the Savox servos - the have a good rep and I believe they use align gears, which makes it easy to replace them when you crash. As far as tail servos I use the Align DS520 on my 450pro and it works a treat...you may have to do some mod to fit it to a V2 though. I would reconsider you gyro...the Assan will do the job for a while, but rather spend a little more and buy a second hand Spartan or similar (you are looking at 40-50 quid) - someone on here will have one.

Hitec 5065mg on my cyclic and an align DS520 on the tail. Both choices are great. Although the majority here go for the savox on the cyclic, so why buck the trend?

I have a ds520 on the tail of a SEV2 clone. No mods needed. I started with a Twister Storm (Blade 400 clone) and the 1kg analogue servos were used on the tail. They worked ok. You don't need a good digital for adequate hold mode performance for learning. Do use glassfibre mains as they are cheap and you'll need to save as much as you can for future upgrades. Even flybarless works with analogue, but digital is better. I'm currently using the Towerpro £6 metals, recomended on here. You might need a digital for the assan 250, although if you have a (red) assan it should work with analogue. Rate mode is a bit easier to begin with as it is more predictable (The tail is always pointing in the same direction as the tail stick tells it). Hold isn't much of an advantage until you start moving sideways or you fly in wind.
