If you are not having fun then don't fly. There is nothing to prove here and it's not a challenge (let's get real, flying a toy heli in adverse weather conditions can hardly be considered a challenge), so don't force yourself.
I stay at home when it's gusting to 20 mph (according to xweather forecast and trees in my garden). Less that that I'll fly if temperature is ok and it doesn't feel cold.
For a 450 10mph gusts can be annoying if you are a beginner. Steady wind is much better, but at least where I live, it's always gusty.

Softy southerners indeed, i don't mind the wind i just can't stand up straight in more than a light breeze lol though i have master'd my exclusive new move... i call it the dying fly auto! lmao
