    Default Newbie Binding question

First post folk so be gentle

I have a Twister Storm 3D fitted with the supplied Planet R6M receiver, I also have a Spektrum DX7, the DX7 has a X1TXN module in it. I have tried to bind the 2 together but had no luck, this is what I have done:

    1. Created a new model on the DX7 (heli, 120ccpm)
    2. With disconnected motor wires, connected the battery and pressed the "bind" switch on the DX7, (the light flashes 3x and repeats)
    3. Switched on the DX7 whilst holding the bind switch on the back.

No luck in acheiving a bind, however if I switch on the original TX the receiver automatically binds and the light goes solid

Anyone know if this RX can be bound to the DX7, if so any ideas what I am doing wrong?

    many thanks

The receiver you have is not compatible with the dx7 - you need a Spektrum receiver such as ar600, ar6110e or you could go for one of the "Orange"dsm2 compatible ones from Flyingwings, GiantCod or HobbyKing.
2.4 is not like the old 35mhz where you could mix and match - different manufacturers run different protocols that are imcompatible with each other.

No problem mate, have a look at the Orange dsm2 ones you will save a lot by going that way - they are currently about 1/3 of the price of a Spektrum one and for what you are doing perfectly adequate.
I'm using them on a Glider, 3D profile foamy and a Camera platform (another Plane), never had any problem with them!
