turnigy motors are "ok" they are known to either last forever and a day or have a life expectancy of about 3 flights due to bearing issues.
personally id say it may be worth getting an align 450m motor or something along the line , they are abit pricey but in this hobby you get what you pay for haha, the 450m motor is a very powerfull motor tho, i recomend it

get a scorpion 8 an a 13th pin or the 450mx 3400kv with a 14th pin both are great 450mx would be my next choice lower amp draw an more headspeed with a 15th pin an the 450mx is cheaper than the scp8.

Thanks, I thought that might be the case, I've gone with align for the esc and tail servo/gyro, just wondered if they were worth a go

I used a scorpion -6 and -8 with the align esc on my 450 without issue. Keep your eye open for a cheap -8 on here that will last you well!

That will be the 450MX 3400Kv motor for 3S operation.

The 450MX 3400kv works well on a stock Align ESC. Just remember to use a 15 tooth pinion.

The 450 mx has loads of power when put with a 15t pinion as Dan suggests. Mine disappears in a blink.

In all honesty all the shops probably have the same price. I have had good luck from all the places I have bought from. Try rcheliguru as they do advertise giving a discount with a code. See BMFA Classifieds for code.

Im using the xtreme productions spin motor, its 4000kv and im running it on a 12tooth pinion which gives just over 3000rpm, Its got lots of power (way more than the 450m) fly really good on my fbl 450 with spinblades, Personally i prefurred it over my 450mx as its more efficient and runns cooler, which means more flighttime, Its very quiet and i reccomend it greatly!!!! Give it a go!!
