Morning/afternoon all,
If you have taken the time to read this then thank you in advance. I need some help/advice/opinion/pointing in the right direction, you get the idea. I am currently (trying to master) flying a Nine Eagles Solo Pro and have some cash that is burning a hole in my pocket and lots of gleaming and shiny helicopters shouting "Buy Me!" I am now stuck between the following Esky Belt CP V2 2.4 ghz- £150 Twister 3D Storm 440 35mhz - £145.00 Blade 400 2.4ghz with Spektrum DX6I - £285.00 Now I have been told the Twister 3D is a better copter than the Belt CP V2, but that the Blade 400 is a better buy with the Spektrum and 2.4ghz etc etc etc. I am thinking that £130 ish, buys an awfull ot of spares, batteries etc, so am stuck in a "what should I do!" moment So, deal or no deal? Which one and why? Help me Rc Heli Addict Members, you are my only hope! |

Get the Blade and DX6i. If you don't then when you buy your next heli you'll need to buy a new transmitter. The DX6i will see you well into this hobby as you can add up to 10 (I think) different models on the one TX and you can use it for the Pheonix simulator as well.
The DX6i is a 'proper' transmitter and it can be used to calm down the controls of the Blade 400 very well to make it more suitable for the beginner flyer. The Twister and the Blade are essentially the same heli but the blade is more 'programmable' if you know what I mean because of the quality TX. Spektrum are also well supported by (insert name here) can't remember as I use Futaba myself. This hobby is a classic case of buy once, buy right. HTH edit : if you not sure they buy a copy of Phoenix and a s/h DX6i (about £120 to get both) then you can learn to fly in the safe surroundings of your pc. Once you can fly on the sim then you can either sell the DX6i for probably near to what you payed for it or you have other options of helis open to you. For me I bought a Trex 500 as my first as it's much larger and therefore more stable than a blade 400.

Guys,
thanks for the advice, confirmed what I suspected. 1 Blade 400 coming up this weekend I feel! I have been told very similar things about the DX6i so makes sense, but thanks again for your comments. Gav |

Hi guys, I'm also newbie looking formy next heli and I like the quote "This hobby is a classic case of buy once, buy right.".
I think I've pretty much learnt all I can from the cx2 I've got and am looking for my next heli. I think I've decided on the trex 500 ESP with the 401 gyro etc, which brings me on to my query of what tx to buy in the Phoenix bundle the dx6i or dx7. Eventually want to fly scale with retractables etc. Do I need the dx7 for this or could the dx6i cope with that? Also would jumping to the trex 500esp be to big a step even if I spent time on phoenix? |

From person experience I wouldn't recommend an Esky mate... not unless you wish to perfect the art of crashing
. Have never flown the Blade but read time and time again that it's a good heli - so it sounds like a good choice. And as mentioned above, a sim is a must! Quote:

It has slightly higher maintenance costs, but touch-wood, that's gone un-noticed here as I'm yet to deck the 500 due to it's characteristics, so it's worked out cheaper overall for me, so far.
