Hi all.
For the most part i'm supremely satisfied with my BeastX (AR7200BX) mounted on my Trex450 Pro V2.
It flies really well most of the time but occasionally i get 2 unwelcome behaviours
1. Intermittent tail wag - fairly low speed, definitely not enough to unsettle - total movement of the tail is maybe 7-10cm latteral movement.
I have the tail-gain set to 69% (heading hold around the 'c' light) - any higher and i definitely get gain wag which is both more persistent and a lot more unsettling of the heli
Could this be simply a reaction to wind? I was flying in light conditions yesterday, i would say a light 5mph background wind with gusts to 10-12mph. Could it be gain is still too high since the gain was initially set indoors (sports hall) at a lower headspeed and now i'm outside in wind i've upped the throttle curve by about 10-15%
2. Tail drift - over the course of maybe 40 seconds the tail will slowly rotate clockwise about 15-20o (so light i'm putting in the smallest left rudder input) - but again this is inconsistent ... sometimes it'll hold stock still - other times it'll drift so i have been reluctant to try and trim this out using param menu A as i'm not sure its consistent.
I'm still fairly new to flying so doing nothing more than hovering / basic T's still .... so am i just over-reading the stability capabilities of a 450 outdoors ... these movements generally aren't enough to make the heli in any way uncontrollable and i have flow it in gustier weather happily .. just was wondering if i can dial out these 2 quirks either by tuning or are they mechanical (vibe) based more likely?
Thanks for any / all help!
Jamie
