    Cool Beast X Setup - Help !

The weekend has arrived and of course the rain has come with it so not much chance of flying today :-(

I have turned my attentions to my scale 600 size seahawk build and I have just fitted the V3 Beast X and need to program it.

Wiring is completed but have the servos disconnected at the moment to make sure that the frequeny and pulse length settings are correct.
My receiver (Spektrum AR8000) is bound to my tx and the beast x powers up and goes through the tests.

When I enter the setup menu I cannot change the parameters using the rudder on the tx. The manual says that the rudder travels need to be increased on the tx. I am using a DSX9 tx and they are currently at 100%.

Q1:- What should I incresase the travels to ?
Q2:- Do I put them back to 100% after the Beast X is configured ?

    Any other guidance welcome :-)

Right I finally sorted out why I couldn't get through the setup menus.... Low voltage in the flight pack ...STOOPID !!

Managed to get all the way through the setup but am a bit unsure on the following:-

Menu Item J - Cyclic Pitch Geometry

I have set this as per the manual with digital pitch gauge. So that the real pitch setting is 6 degrees.

    The manual says:-
When reaching 6 degress the status led should light blue.

Mine does not light blue. I think its purple.

Is this ok or do you keep adjusting until the light turns blue ???

adjust for your 6 degrees ... dont worry about the blue light... purple is close enough mate

You can mess around with placement of the balls on the servo wheels to get the blue light but i found on my first beastX that it made no diffrence. Purples close enough anyways... it would logically allow you to add more cyclic gain FWIW. More gain = better hold. Honestly though i see no diffrence in the 2 units i have. One gives purple light and the other blue. If you get the blue light it means your bang in the sweet spot regarding mechanical and actual cyclic gain.

Yeah - agree - the important thing is the 6 degrees and the purple light will be fine for your scale build.

Look forward to seeing some pics and maybe a vid or two!!

Good luck with the maiden fella.

    Cheers,
    Simon
