It's the pilot that makes anything fly straight, the FBL unit just helps along with more power..

Game set and match to Align.

Never understood the converting the Avant FB head to FBL as its pretty much the straightest flying head out there. However, I know how much people like to go FBL so can understand it from that standpoint. Fact is, if you mod something the manufacturer cannot be held responsible and its pretty unfair to draw judgement on a non factory modification.

Not too sure where this lack of parts thing comes into play TBH. I flew 2 Avants over the course of 2 years and can't recall any weekend being missed waiting for parts. Avant has one of if not the best distributors in the UK who will bend over backwards to accomodate their end users. Parts supply does get interrupted every now and then but all manufacturers suffer that, even Align.

I understand the whole Align thing on the other hand, I am currently capitalising on it myself, but the 2 machines really aren't comparable. If anyone who has owned both disagrees I will listen intently, until then, I know which side of the fence I am sitting

I dont mean the pilot skills Tim .. I meant the models themselves... Only way to make an align fly straight is to FBL the thing and as for parts that are reliable .. Well thats a whole other thread entirely ...

But we digress from the original OP which was about the conversion and I agree with Tom with the above statement

Lol, like I said Paul, it happens, just like with other brands. I never had a FBL Avant so cant comment on that. I try to only have an opinion on things I have experienced

The Avant FBL head hasn't been released over here yet??? Yes you have seen them flown by team pilots but theyre still not on release. It's up to Avant how long they take to release it, until then, though shit

The 600 is great thanks, great fun, cheap to repair, laugh a minute However it is an Align so it flies as straight as Elton John
