  • Throttle Curves

I was wondering how many of you bother to set the good old throttle curves if you use governor's, wether it be GV-1 or TJ.

I alway's like to set my curves up somewhere close & then rely on the
    GV-1.

    What you say.

Exactly the same, I setup my throttle curve 1st to roughly what I want and then setup the TJ Pro. This way should the TJ fail but maintain throttle control I should still be ok.

It's probably the wise thing to do! - I have to admit I don't bother to much - I will switch off the TJ now and then and rehearse a TJ failure - it usually has the engine reving away a bit to hard but would allow me to land okay.

I think setting up and using normal throttle curves, especially when tuning an engine is a good idea. It can be very difficult to tune an engine correctly whilst using a TJ or GV1 as they have a habit of masking engine inconsistencies, which is really important to see in order to get the tuning right.

Once then engine is setup and the curves are right, I then in my case tweak the GV1 settings until I'm happy with the head speed.

If in the event the GV1 fails, and I have had a couple of sensor failures, the normal throttle curves kick in and take over. It is always worth setting the curves a little different, be it lower or higher than the governor so it is immediately apparent that the governor is no longer functioning.

        Cheers,

        Pete.

          Ditto.

All my curves are all dialed in, just incase it all goes 'Pete Tong'
