Glad to hear you've ordered an XTR. I've had mine for about a month now, and I can't leave it alone! I've learnt nose-in and inverted, although I haven't tried it at the field yet. The only problem I've found with it so far, (there's always a moan!) is that when flying a heli at a distance the tail direction reverses! Must contact Reflex on that one.

        Regards, smiggsy.

Well i know it sounds obvious but if any one is considering buying the Reflex XTR from a supplier who is also selling cheap TX's to go with the software beware!!

I have just been sold the software with such a transmitter and after many many frustrating hours trying to get it to work properly i had an email from the supplier telling me that it wasnt compatible!!!!

Problem is that the suppplier was in the states and they will not send a replacment until they receive the old one back from me!!

So when ordering just make sure its al compatible with the TX you have you might sound a bit daft but you will be able to use your software.

Just a side note i know that the Hitec Eclipse 7 is not compatible with XTR.

Still havent used the sim yet still waiting for the replacment TX to arrive from the states but when i do i will let you know how i get on

          Cheers

            Hi Wazzer,

One thing worth making sure about when you order any kind of RC radio gear from the states is that they opperate on a different band to us in the UK. We use the 35Mhz band, whereas in the states they use 72Mhz.

Just make sure the transmitter is the correct one for this country before you use it.

            Cheers,

            Pete.

              HI Pete

Thanks for the advice i didnt actualy know that but the transmitter was bundled with the software and i was only ever intending to use it for flight training on the sim.
Thanks for the heads up as i have been looking for good price radio gear in the states, that could have been another disaster!!

              Cheers

I beg to differ on this. I have set up Reflex XTR on my mates laptop with his Hitec Eclipse 7 without any problems.

Always try and use your own TX if possible, as this will replicate the look and feel and you'll not need to adjust settings controls for field flying.

By getting used to your own TX (the one you'll actually fly with), you'll be able to react quicker to any situations.

I have it. Quite like it too though takes a while to setup properly.

I use it with my Sanwa RD8000 and its great, like Glenn says use it with your transmitter and it makes the experience even better, even though mine is setup as a vanilla Helicopter for the Sim (none of my actual heli settings - not worked out how to make it work with them yet) its nice to get the feel for your own transmitter when no money is involved. I didnt even have the well publicised problems with the new USB adapter, guess I was lucky.

Sods law though the day it arrived my setup and the subsequent hovering problems I was having were cured by a little lthinking hard and a long time staring at RaptorTechnique. Sure its going to come in well useful learning side and nose in hovering though.

                    Cheers,

                    Jase.

                      Hi

I need to get a sim asap and I've found your opinions on XTR very informative. The other one I've been looking at is Aerofly Pro - they seem to be priced similairly, but do you think that XTR is better for Heli's? I've never flown anything before - is thier anybody using it at a total beginner level?

                      Thanks.

I've had Aerofly Pro and I'd stay away from it.....

Graphics are reasonable, but that's only due to XTR setting a whole new benchmark. The flight physics are so so, CSM V10 is better for that.

I never got comfortable with it, plus it auto'd like a brick....

If you have a strong enough PC go for and this would be my preference:
                        1. XTR
                        2. G2
                        3. CSM V10

I believe G3 is out in the States, and you maybe able to get a copy from there.
                        Cheers
