Default Trex 600N LE head block moving?

    Hi

I did some spring cleaning on my 600LE (fly bared) and whilst cleaning it I checked the dampers. I saw some movement.
Turns out to be that the head block is moving on the main shaft. It is not much but I am fearing a Jesus bold sheer.

Does anyone else have some movement there. I can see the washout guides move a bit.

    Thanks

Is the movement still there if you tighten the jesus bolt?

    It is still moving.

I think I over did it now and will be replacing the jesus bolt. Still did not work.
I read that some bend the head block a bit but I am not to happy with that.
Could just weaken the head block when you bend it. Maybe put some sort of shim in there thin copper or something.

Also not sure if I should fly like that.

    Thanks

I have had exactly the same problem with my 600le , particularly with the flybarless centre block, not the Dfc head the older V2 type.

Tightening the bolt won't help as its above the slot cut in the head block.

The only cure I found was to put a two part epoxy in the hole for the main shaft and then fit the head lock to the shaft, this took away the play and has proved to be a permanent fix.

As far as the fbl headblock goes its just very poor design as rotating the slot 90 degrees so the two lower bolts clamped the headblock would have cured the problem and made the mounting so much more secure.

You could just squeeze the block slightly , that would also work ,but like you I didn't fancy that.

    Hope this helps x Rachel

I have hit one of mine in the past with a plastic mallet on a peace of wood no scratches and problem solved, you are talking fractions of a Mill here, the only thing you have to be carefull of is not going to far one tap and try it, worked for me and is still going strong .
