I'm sure 12s would be ok but you sacrifice efficiency and flight time. Reality is its not practical but you could get it too fly well for 3-4 minutes at a guess. It's not going to be much heavier than a v2 700e, sounds like its only a stretch. Elec weights are so variable but advertised is always very optimistic :-)

Seriously, a) why people bother with regular helis for even semi-serious aerial photography, I don't know. Quads etc. are much better for this. b) 12s on a 800 doesn't work. c) (sorry had to add this) 800 class is pointless anyway, I don't really see why it exists, except having bragging rights (which is almost valid reason, but 1 model on the market pretty much covers it all)
Actually not so, check out snap roll media. They use single rotors as they are more stable.

Not sure I understand your point here? Why is it pointless?

I dont think its pointless. I think 700 stretch's running 12s are pointless.

It is incredible to fly. Awesome in fact. Its awesome just to look at in the hangar too

It has a place just like the other size. I can imagine when 90's first came around there were many that said it was a no go to??

I think it's too early for 800 to become viable (meaning popular). As cool as Logo exxtreme is, I think it's too big machine with not enough power for full on 3D, looks like it's great for sport flying, but at the same time it's really expensive and hard to transport.
I've never flown one, it's all based on what I've seen on the videos.

Maybe in 2-3 years when power/price ratio will get better, 800 class will become more popular and more viable for day to day flying.

p.s. I'd still had one now if I had big enough car

Hit the nail on the head there. Very few people (comparatively) have chargers capable of 7S/14S setups, so that's another thing. As you say, give it a few years, wait for prices to come down etc and you'll see more and more.

You would be surprised just how small a car they could fit in lol. As for your full on 3D comment based on the Xxtreme I would agree but wait until the Shape 8 comes out

Its the money that stops most from getting one I would say. For my style of flying its perfect but then there are vids of people smacking it but then puffing even TP's. Perhaps its too early for the current batt tech????
