    Default 700e carbon tail rod

How many guides should be fitted with the carbon tail control rod, the instructions show 2 but theres only one i the kit. At first i thought the second one was missing but theres only 1 aluminium sleeve on the rod so this suggests only one??

I bought mine as an upgrade, and it comes with 2 boom mounts and 2 aluminium sleeves on the rod. I guess they have now resorted to one... pretty stingy if its just for cost cutting!

There was only one in my 700e v2 kit, but I'm using the quickuk boom clamp which also has a guide built in, so I'm effectively running 2.

i did wonder whether it was meant to have just the one because the sleeves are factory fitted before the rod ends are fitted and they cannot be removed. i cant see any reason to not use just one as the rod isnt going to flex, its a chunky bugger

This is the upgrade i got for mine:

H70073A 700 Carbon Tail Control Rod Assembly

Clearly shows two sleeves on the rod. Wonder why they changed it on later models?

The picture shows two, the description says one. The one I bought had one guide too. I'm guessing they've just decided you only need one and you couldn't remove the second one if they fitted it.

Just upgraded my 700e from the steel pushrod.

The new CF rod came with the two sleeves and I only wanted to use one of them so I took out the Dremel and cut the other one off.

Very very carefully I might add.

I removed the standard plastic one and only use the QuickUk boom clamp with pushrod guide 'built in'.

Mine only came with one metal sleeve, as of a matter of fact I never even knew it was suppose to come with two until I read this forum. I guess it is true that one learns something new every day. wow.

    H70073 came with 2 guides & 2 sleeves.
H70073A (revised) now only comes with 1 of each.
